a night at the EAA Airventure
This has been a staple of the husband and I's summer for a while. We first went to the EAA Airventure three years ago, and if you have not heard of this. It's one of the largest air shows, and people come from all around the world, literally to see it.
The first year we went was the first year it was putting on it's night show, and it's so fun to watch all the planes light up the night sky. Well this year was a bit different with the husband being away, but that didn't stop me from going. It just so happened that a local band that both the husband and I have enjoyed for many many years was performing, Chasin' Mason. This was the band we went to go see together on our first date, and one of their song's was played during my Father-Daughter dance at my wedding. I was happy to soak in some sun and listen to some good ole' country music.
As the sun set, it was simply gorgeous. I took a walk to see the Warbirds that flew in WWII and captured some fantastic images. Twilight hit, the night show began. The show never gets old for me, and they ended with some fantastic fireworks and a wall of fire that you could feel from your seats.
This year was bitter sweet, but I'm glad I got to capture some photos to share with the husband when I knew he really wanted to be there right along with me.
