we spent our first fourth down in the good ol' state of Texas with my in-laws. even our flights went well, except for the fact that i forgot his carseat base and had to literally run back with all our stuff and the baby to the car to get it, and go through TSA again. lesson learned. my husband's grandparents got to meet the little guy for the first time. and you bet he was rarely put down. everyone wanted to hold him. the evening of the fourth, after i put him to sleep, was spent in a lawn chair with 90 degree weather still watching the fireworks with his family. whenever i go down there i feel like i'm home. it's so relaxing. with all the extra hands, i even got to finish the first Divergent book series. lots of mexican food and spanish-speaking. little man must have been going through a growth spurt because every night he slept through, from 8:30 until 7:00am. this momma was loving the extra sleep! he started to smile back at people, and i finally got my first smile out of him that sunday. it was a great feeling. i think it'd be easier to fly with an extra set of hands, but i made do the best i could. i had a wonderful time and i wish we were back in that state already. hope everyone else had a beautiful fourth.
