classic pooh first birthday party
i had far too much fun decorating for his first birthday. classic winnie-the-pooh was i theme i had picked long before he was even born. :) i have always adore the illustrations in the collections from A.A. Milne. i stuck with a picnic type party with plaid paper plates, plastic silverware and a backyard BBQ type menu. by the way, my husband can roast a mean and utterly delish pulled pork. he even created his own "no kick" and "some kick" BBQ sauce to put on top. went with peanut butter chocolate and red velvet cupcakes a favorite of each mine and my husband. the guests had loads of honey bun treats and a wooden pencil to take home as gifts. we tried again with the cupcake, but he wouldn't stick his hand in the frosting. had fun taking out all the paper of the gifts he received and was tired and cranky by the time everyone left. so early bedtime of 6:00pm it was! :) cant wait until next year to plan his second!
invitations can be seen here.
