Surprise [Gift]

So in my husband's last week of training, I decided to send one last care package to him, to arrive just before I got there.

This is what I came up with, and I couldn't help to not share it:

I made his favorite cookies, butterscotch oatmeal, and wrapped them.  I wrote on them "Open me right away!!" Apparently he had them gone in less than 3 days, and he didn't even share. ha ha!

I picked up this champagne at the grocery store. It's the champagne that we had for our rehearsal dinner and for our wedding. I wrapped it and wrote "Do not open me but put me in the refrigerator".  We share it the last night before we left San Antonio.

I saw this idea on pinterest, and decided to try my hand at it. I didn't have much time, so I did it quickly in about 2 hours the night before I sent it out.

Inside each card, there was a hand written statement that explained 52 reasons why I love... (things about my husband). Here are some of the pages:

I had wrapped them and put on the tag: "Do not open until I'm on my flight to you".

It was kind of like an early Christmas present for him, and he really enjoyed the surprises, during that last week of training. I am super proud of myself with them, and most likely will do something similar if(when) he goes away for a while again.

What are some surprises you have done for a certain someone special? I'd love to hear!

  1. So sweet of you to do a surprise gift box for him right at the end. I'm currently working on the 52 deck of card "why I love you" book as well. My Husband leaves for drill school soon and will be gone for 9 weeks. It will eb a great way to help him get through training. There are really some spectacular ideas on pinterest arent there.
