If I had the choice to see someone preform live before they or I leave this earth it would be (hands-down) Garth Brooks. I've always remember getting so excited to watch him live on television when I was younger, staying up late at night quietly listening to my radio for the extended version of "Friends in Low Places", listening to his "Two Fences" tape over and over again.
When I met my husband and asked him the same question, "who he'd like to see live before he or the person passed" he answer was the king of country music, the George Strait. Always laughing saying he probably won't ever get the chance.
...
The King of Country Music announced that this year is his last year of touring. I searched and searched the internet and found the closest concert to us (unfortunately a 5 hour drive away) but I knew I couldn't pass up this opportunity. With the help of my parents, they secretly kept hold of the tickets without the husband having a clue what was going on.
...
Christmas Eve, while we opened presents at my family's house, a small box secretly awaited him under the tree. My heart was racing because he deliberately told me not to get him anything. The minute he opened the card and saw the tickets was one of the best moments I could have ever witnessed. Tears formed around his eyes. I couldn't help but tear up as well. He was in shock and completely speechless. One of the best feelings in the world.
He received 4th row, VIP tickets to see The King live in concert, during his last year of touring.
My husband has done so much for me the past couple years and this was just a glimmer to share how much he really means to me and how much I appreciate everything. I honestly can not wait to share this experience with him. It is one we both won't ever forget.
Let's just say February can't come soon enough, for either of us.
