new years eve 2013

so like tradition, we made our way down to downtown nashville on new years eve. my brother-in-law brought her daughter down to have dinner and walk the streets a little bit. we decked her out in 2014 bright apparel, she got a kick out of it. stopped at a new candy store and picked up some chocolate and a caramel apple to go. we left before it was even 9 o'clock. and were back in bed before 10:30. sad i know. but hearing the yells and toots of horns at midnight across the walls, i woke up briefly and kissed my husband's lips. grateful that even if we were both fast asleep, i got to spend the new year next to him. i wouldn't have it any other way.
