[The] Ceremony

I'm back at posting some more on my Wedding, that happened this past August:

I was so nervous before, but I’m so glad I went with the decision I made: to wear no shoes. I was barefoot for the entire ceremony, it helped me feel comfortable and not pass out. :)

The ceremony it self was short, less then 30 minutes. My husband had a Chaplin from his National Guard unit run the service.

I had a college friend play a collection of songs on the piano:
“Your Everything”-Keith Urban as guests were seated
“Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”-Aerosmith when the bridal party walked down the aisle
A traditional wedding song when I walked down the aisle
“Great Balls of Fire”-my husband’s request for when we exited the ceremony to surprise everyone. It made all of the guests laugh and set the mood for the rest of the night: “Let’s Party!” :)

We met everyone at the back of the room and thanked each individual that could come. Hug them, share in their congratulations. It was so nice to see everyone there to support you and share in those special moments with you.

My favorite picture during our ceremony was after we made our exit, my Husband’s expression on his face when he looked down at his hand is priceless, seeing that ring on his hand. I’m so glad that moment was captured.

It all happened so quickly and was gone in a flash. I’d love to relive those moment of our ceremony, but unfortunately we did not have it video-taped. Maybe it’s something we do every year: re-new our vows. Has anyone else done this sort of thing? I feel it’d be very meaningful saying those vows, and how they can change as each year goes by with all of the things that happen between you as a husband and wife.

  4. Sounds like you had a very lovely ceremony. I wore shoes but they were some very simple slippers similar to Toms. I absolutely LOVED our wedding and wish we to could relive it every year. We had our videoed so we are thankful for that but as you know its not the same. I am wanting to renew our vowels as well, not sure if we will do it at 5 years (next Nov.) or 10 years. I guess we will see.
We just celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary in November of this year but you make me want to go back and write about our wedding on my blog as well. I started blogging about a year & half after we got married. Maybe I will, we will see.
