where i come from

this is home. for me. and will always be. on a farm. i don't see life any different and am beyond grateful for the way i was raised by extremely hard-working mother and father. my mother who managed to get up every morning before daylight and milk before any of us children stepped out of bed, got us ready for school and made her way to her full-time job, only to come home from work, whip up a quick dinner and head back to the barn for the night. my dad whom bought this farm at the young age of 19, and still continues the daily chores and to-dos, day-in and day-out, from before the sun comes up to way past sunset. there is something that i've come to realize over the past years just how much they have put into making mine and my siblings lives the best they could, while still teaching us all the meaning of hard-work.

so coming back to this place from time to time, makes me miss that smell of country and wild fresh air. and just how relaxed and at home, i immediately feel. and i hope if we ever do start a family, that my children will share in these same experiences. and not turn into some "yuppies" as quoted by Phil Robertson (duck dynasty). come only to find out harlee is not the biggest fan of the cows. maybe she just needs to visit more often, and have a turn of heart.

I love Farms, my mom grew up in England on a farm and I'm extremely jealous. I have a lot of good memories visiting the farm.

  13. such beautiful photos, Whit! Such hardworking & dedicated parents. You are so lucky & blessed to have such a wonderful example in front of you. When the day comes that you have babies of your own, they are going to have such a ball running around the farm! :)

  15. I don't think I could have lived very long on a working farm. I do admire those that can and do! Now I live in a house surrounded by cow pastures and I watch (mostly hear) the farmers work all day. It is so very peaceful out here--I hope we don't have to leave for a long time.
