week sixteen

the little one had another doctor's appointment on monday. i feel like the midwives just look at me funny because i don't have any questions for them. should i? i'm sorry but i'm not the one to go out and worry about this little thing and that when i'm only 16 weeks along. things may start to come up a month or two before the little one arrive, but there is really nothing i can do right now. i have these feeling that because i'm so laid back during this pregnancy, i'm going to be the complete opposite when they are actually here.

i finally caved and jumped into my first and only maternity pants, and holy bee-jesus they are amazing! i don't think i'm going to ever go back to normal pants. on my list of things to get: more maternity pants and pronto. but i have to do some fishing because there is no way i'm going to pay $35 for a new pair. heck i don't even buy my normal pants for anymore than $20.

no movements yet, but i'm hoping by the time the husband comes back home to visit they will be a bit more active. i really want him to feel one before he leaves for a very long time. i have been going crazy buying all of this photography equipment. a new studio lighting kit, three new wooden backdrops, a new 35mm and 28 mm wide angle lens, and a ton of different fur fabric. this baby will be one well photographed one, no doubt.

i started a pool on facebook to get friend's gender predictions and most are saying boy. gosh, i hope so too. after going up and down the kids clothing aisles, the boy stuff is just so much more cuter, and at lot less glitzy. i'm sorry but if we do end up having a girl, there will be absolutely no spec of glitter in her wardrobe and as minimal pink as possible. i want this girl to be raised tom-boy. loving her tractors and making mud-pies. the same way i was raised. only a couple more weeks until the husband and i find out, or not. the final decision still hasn't been made.

  2. Your bump pics make me happy 😊 Try Old Navy for maternity pants. I ordered mine online since we were in Japan and they were amazing. I wish I had normal pants that fit me as comfy and cute and those did! No one believed they were maternity until I'd lift my shirt and show them the belly.

  3. You're not alone on the questions. I've had very few for my doctor and feel like they think I'm going to be a horrible mother because I don't call and ask them a million questions every single week. Honestly, besides checking out pregnancy updates for the current week, I haven't been reading up much at all. I guess right now I don't feel the need and don't want to worry about the "what ifs".

  5. I used to think I'd want to have a girl first because I'm such a girly girl but the more I see little boys clothes, the more I melt. I think even though I'm super girly, if we do have a girl some day we will do our best to make sure she's at least part tom boy. I loved playing with my brother and his friends growing up. I think it's important for girls to experience that, too!

  6. I love your bump! I always wanted a boy first, so that the other kiddies would have a big brother, but obviously that didn't happen. LOL
I think it's totally normal to not have any questions.. Plus, it's so easy to look everything up on the internet. It's mostly common sense for now. (:

  7. I'm not sure where you were wanting to look for maternity jeans, but if you download the "cartwheel" app for Target, they often (and i THINK possibly currently) have coupons (the last I used was 15% off) for their maternity line! they also have super comfy shirts for relatively cheap.

  10. I always found maternity clothes very reasonably priced at the PX. However, that was almost 7 years ago.

  11. I think Nolan always hung out around the 140's and baby girl has been around 150. But I could be wrong... when do you find out!? And maternity jeans and I have a love hate this time around... like I hate them haha but Motherhood Maternity is usually pretty cheap and always running specials :)

  12. I never had any questions either.

I like boys clothing and wanted a boy because I am not very girly. I ended up with two girls. Somehow the glittery pink clothes have found my daughters thanks to relatives. :) Luckily my older daughter also loves cars and planes as well as the color pink.
